Job Title: Staff Nurse - Band 5 Department: Orthopaedic and Spinal Surgery Ward Salary: £40,491 - £51,113 dependent on experience Job Type: Permanent Hours: 37.5 - longdays, nights and weekend About Us The London Clinic is one of the UK's largest independent charitable hospitals, providing consultant led care across a wide range of medical and surgical specialties. The Orthopaedic and Spinal Surgery ward is a specialist inpatient service caring for patients undergoing elective and complex orthopaedic and spinal procedures. The ward manages patients across the full inpatient pathway, from admission through post-operative recovery and discharge. Patients often present with varying levels of acuity and mobility needs, requiring coordinated, evidence-based nursing care delivered within a fast-paced multidisciplinary environment. The role This is a clinical role for a motivated and patient focused Band 5 Staff Nurse with experience or a strong interest in orthopaedic and spinal surgery. The post holder will deliver high quality inpatient care while supporting the smooth running of the ward and contributing to a positive and professional team culture. There will be opportunities to take charge of shifts, develop leadership skills and participate in practice development and governance activity. Key responsibilities
Deliver high quality, evidence-based nursing care to orthopaedic and spinal surgery patientsManage and prioritise a clinical workload within an acute inpatient settingRecognise and respond appropriately to clinical deteriorationWork collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to support patient care and discharge planningTake charge of the ward as required and support day to day ward operationsSupport and mentor student nurses and junior staffMaintain accurate clinical documentation and adhere to governance and safety standardsContribute to audit, incident reporting and quality improvement activity Ideal candidate You will be a Registered Nurse with current NMC registration who is passionate about delivering high quality patient care within an acute inpatient setting. You will have experience or a genuine interest in orthopaedic and spinal surgery and enjoy working as part of a close-knit multidisciplinary team. You will bring strong clinical assessment skills, a calm and organised approach to care, and the confidence to recognise and respond to patient needs. With good communication skills and a positive attitude, you will be keen to develop your clinical expertise and grow your career within a supportive and specialist surgical environment.
