Job responsibilities

We have an exciting opportunity for a Sample Reception Team Leader to join our Pathology Department based at The London Clinic in Central London, W1G 7L, with a competitive salary range on offer. Job Profile As a Sample Reception Team Leader you will ensure that all samples received are processed in a timely manner according to laboratory protocol. To supervise section staff and to lead in developing role of the MLAs in the laboratory.

  • Job Type: This is a permanent position, working 37.5 hours per week.
  • Shifts: Monday to Friday

  • Key Duties
  • Ensure that all samples are processed in a timely fashion and adequate turnaround times are maintained.
  • Undertake preliminary preparation of specimens as required.
  • Supervise the area's medical laboratory assistants, ensuring they are given training and competency testing at regular intervals.
  • Ensure the extended working day is covered by an appropriate number of suitably trained staff.
  • To be able to follow laboratory procedures and to use own discretion to prioritise own work.
