Job Title: HCA Salary: £29,284 - £33,445 - Depending on experience Band: Band 3 Department: Oncology Outpatients Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday About Us: The London Clinic is one of the UK's largest independently owned non-profit hospital, and we have been providing exceptional care since 1932. We have 8 premises, where we perform highly complex procedures as well as routine surgery & medicine. Our main hospital spans 8 floors comprising of 234 beds and 10 theatres, and The Duchess of Devonshire Wing is our award-winning cancer centre, which includes state-of-the-art radiotherapy, chemotherapy suites and 47 dedicated patient bedrooms for Oncology & Haematology patients. The Role: We have an exciting opportunity for a Healthcare Assistant to join our dedicated Oncology Outpatients team at The London Clinic. This is a patient-facing role where you will provide high-quality, compassionate care to individuals attending the department for consultations, investigations, and treatments. Working closely with our specialist nurses and multi-disciplinary colleagues, you will help prepare patients for their appointments, support them during treatments, and assist in maintaining a calm, safe, and supportive environment. This is a role where your care and attention can make a genuine difference to people at a challenging time in their lives. Key Duties:
Welcome and support patients attending for oncology treatments and consultationsProvide assistance with personal care, mobility, comfort, and nutritional needsMonitor and report patient observations to the nursing teamPrepare treatment areas, equipment, and materials for clinical proceduresWork in accordance with infection prevention and control standardsMaintain accurate records of care providedHelp to ensure the department remains clean, well-organised, and stocked Skills and Experience:
Previous experience as a Healthcare Assistant in a hospital or clinical setting is essentialExperience in oncology or outpatient care is desirable, but not essentialA caring and patient-focused approach, with excellent communication skillsAbility to work effectively as part of a teamCare Certificate or NVQ Level 2/3 in Health and Social Care, or willingness to work towards this Benefits We offer a range of benefits including flexible working and great career opportunities.
