Job summary

The role requires a strong background in endoscopy nursing, with the ability to apply specialist knowledge, support patients through their treatment journey, and contribute to service development. The post holder will maintain high professional standards in line with the NMC Code, act as a mentor to junior staff and students, and provide leadership when required.

Main duties of the job

* Deliver safe and high-quality nursing care across all areas of the Endoscopy Unit (pre-assessment, procedures, recovery, and discharge). * Support patients and families through diagnosis, treatment, and recovery, providing clear communication and reassurance. * Administer medications and assist with specimen collection (biopsies, bodily fluids). * Ensure care plans are developed, updated, and delivered in line with patient needs and best practice. * Act as a role model, supporting junior nurses, HCAs, and students.

Job Title: Band 5 Endoscopy Staff Nurse Location: 22 Devonshire Place, W1G Hours: 37.5 hours per week, rota-based with on-call participation. The Role We are seeking an experienced Endoscopy Nurse to join our highly skilled team at The London Clinic. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a busy, patient-focused service that provides exceptional care across the full endoscopy pathway, from pre-assessment and procedures to recovery and safe discharge. In this role, you will apply your specialist endoscopy knowledge and clinical expertise to deliver safe, effective, and compassionate care. You will play a key part in supporting patients through diagnosis and treatment planning, while also contributing to service development and mentoring junior colleagues. This is a hands-on role requiring endoscopy experience and the confidence to rotate across all areas of the unit. This role is based on an internal rotation contract, working a variety of shift patterns between Monday and Friday, 07:30 to 20:00. Key Duties

  • Delivering safe and effective nursing care across all areas of the Endoscopy Unit
  • Supporting patients and their families through diagnosis, treatment, and recovery
  • Supervising and mentoring junior staff, students, and HCAs
  • Administering medications and assisting with specimens and biopsies
  • Participating in the Endoscopy on-call service
  • Ensuring compliance with infection prevention and health and safety policies
  • Contributing to audit, research, and continuous quality improvement initiatives
  • Skills and Experience:
  • Registered Nurse (NMC)
  • Proven experience in endoscopy nursing is essential
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to remain calm under pressure
  • A collaborative, flexible, and caring approach with a commitment to patient-centred care
  • Willingness to rotate through all areas of the Endoscopy Unit and participate in on-call duties
