The role requires a strong background in endoscopy nursing, with the ability to apply specialist knowledge, support patients through their treatment journey, and contribute to service development. The post holder will maintain high professional standards in line with the NMC Code, act as a mentor to junior staff and students, and provide leadership when required.
Main duties of the job
* Deliver safe and high-quality nursing care across all areas of the Endoscopy Unit (pre-assessment, procedures, recovery, and discharge).
* Support patients and families through diagnosis, treatment, and recovery, providing clear communication and reassurance.
* Administer medications and assist with specimen collection (biopsies, bodily fluids).
* Ensure care plans are developed, updated, and delivered in line with patient needs and best practice.
* Act as a role model, supporting junior nurses, HCAs, and students.

In this role, you will apply your specialist endoscopy knowledge and clinical expertise to deliver safe, effective, and compassionate care. You will play a key part in supporting patients through diagnosis and treatment planning, while also contributing to service development and mentoring junior colleagues. This is a hands-on role requiring endoscopy experience and the confidence to rotate across all areas of the unit. This role is based on an internal rotation contract, working a variety of shift patterns between Monday and Friday, 07:30 to 20:00. Key Duties
