Job title: Band 7 Senior Therapy Radiographer

Salary: Band 7 Equivalent

Location: 20 Devonshire Place

Job Type: Permanent Hours: 37.5 Hours/week

The role The London Clinic is one of the UK's private leading comprehensive clinics in the heart of London and also recognised worldwide. The Senior Therapy Radiographer will lead the radiotherapy units/areas through the clinical and technical delivery of all radiotherapy tasks from referral to follow up. This will include immobilisation, localisation, planning, treatment delivery and patient assessment, management and care.

Key Duties

* Develop and implement information and support services and pathways for a patient focused radiotherapy service as agreed with the Radiotherapy Services Manager. * Provide a continuum of care requiring complex technical skills in localisation, planning and dosimetry, technique development, verification and management of treatment processes. * Understand complex treatment plans and carry out checks and QA in accordance with radiotherapy protocols * Quality assurance and control tasks as required ensuring high quality patient treatments and care. * Training and developing of radiotherapy staff to support the delivery of a high-quality radiotherapy service. * Liaising with other services within the organisation to promote high quality evidence based safe and effective treatment and care of patients. * Prioritise and manage own work. * Train, clinically supervise and check the work of radiographers, admin and clerical staff within the department as appropriate. * Provide clinical radiotherapy support for other services and personnel within the Clinic to include, for example, consultant medical staff, physicist, technologists and nurses.

Skills and Experience

  • Extensive post qualification clinical experience in all aspects of radiotherapy which includes leading a team.
  • Practical experience of a wide range of radiotherapy equipment, technique and practice including modern practice e.g.
  • IMRT, IGRT, respiratory gating
  • Experience in dealing with clinical problems
  • Participation in research or development projects.
  • Experience in patient support and information across the radiotherapy pathway
