Job title: Band 5 Scrub Practitioner Department: Minimally Invasive Treatment Unit (MITU) Day Surgery Theatre Job Type: Permanent, Full-time Hours: 37.5 hours per week - Monday to Friday The role We are seeking an experienced and motivated Band 5 Registered Practitioner (Nurse or ODP) to join our expert team in the Minimally Invasive Treatment Unit (MITU) at The London Clinic. This is a fantastic opportunity to work alongside leading consultants and theatre teams, delivering high-quality perioperative care across a range of surgical specialties, with a focus on Urology, Gynaecology and ENT. You will play a vital role in preparing and managing surgical equipment, supporting procedures from start to finish, and ensuring the highest standards of patient safety and care throughout the perioperative journey. Prepare, assemble, and check surgical instruments, equipment, and consumables for a range of procedures, ensuring readiness for each surgical list.Undertake the scrub role in a professional and proficient manner, including completing all mandatory surgical checks.Support safe patient positioning and transfer before, during, and after procedures.Act in the circulating role when required, maintaining safe and efficient theatre operations.Maintain stock control and ensure equipment is in optimal working order.Contribute to ongoing quality improvement initiatives and share ideas for service development.Support and mentor junior colleagues, acting as a positive role model within the team. Skills and Experience
Registered Nurse (NMC) or Operating Department Practitioner (HCPC).Minimum of one year's post-registration theatre experience.Demonstrable scrub skills, ideally with experience in Urology, Gynaecology, and ENT.Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.Flexible, organised, and able to work in a fast-paced clinical environment.
