Biomedical Scientist - Blood Sciences We have an exciting opportunity for a Biomedical Scientist to join our Blood Sciences team within our Pathology Department based at The London Clinic in Central London, W1G 6BW, with a competitive salary range on offer.

As a Biomedical Scientist you will carry out / supervise technical and scientific work in the laboratory under the direction of the Chief/Senior Biomedical Scientist or Consultant. You will work alongside the Blood Sciences team members and leaders to cultivate and maintain a culture in which staff are continuously improving the delivery of a high quality, efficient and effective services.
Job Type: This is a full-time, permanent position, working 37.5 hours per week. Shifts: Monday to Friday with 1 in 4 Saturday Shifts, you will also be expected to participate on the Out of Hours rota. Key Duties Undertake routine and specialist laboratory techniques in line with department standard operating procedures.Record information on the pathology laboratory information system and ensure it complies with national and local data standards.To assess, initiate and monitor appropriate action when a situation may compromise service delivery and to escalate.To be aware of the processes for escalation of laboratory issues. Skills & Experience At least 2 years post HCPC registrationRecent laboratory experience in Haematology and/or Blood transfusion and experience of a variety of diagnostics techniquesExtensive experience in Blood film morphology reviewExperience of ISO15189 requirementsBiomedical Science or equivalentCurrent HCPC registration as a biomedical scientist We are an organisation that has charitable status and this helps us to drive forward our mission of reinvesting our income to deliver better patient outcomes.
