Job summary

To support, coordinate and actively assist in the management and organisation of care provision within the Operating Department while managing a delegated team. Provide quality planned care for patients during their perioperative phase of care by ensuring all team members deliver quality patient care by providing appropriate clinical and managerial leadership.

Main duties of the job

* Assist in the delivery of patient care * Contribute to quality improvement within the Operating Department * Develop and enhance the skills and knowledge of others and self * Promote best evidence-based practice within own scope of practice * Apply legislation, policies and procedures correctly. * Lead on National audits relevant to the Speciality you are aligned to * Respect the patient's dignity, privacy, wishes and beliefs. * Participate in HR activities * 'On the floor' Lead for AFPP accreditation * Line management of rotational staff with advanced roles within the department * Assist in the enhancement, development, introduction of services and initiatives

This role is based at our main hospital in Marylebone, within our state-of-the-art theatre suite.   • We're looking for an experienced and confident clinical leader to join our Breast & Plastics Theatre Team at The London Clinic. This is a Band 7 role for a skilled scrub nurse or ODP who's ready to step into a key leadership position in one of the UK's leading independent hospitals. You'll take the lead on the floor within our Surgery Theatre teams, acting as a go-to specialist for Breast & Plastics. Working closely with consultants and colleagues, you'll ensure high-quality, safe, and efficient care throughout the perioperative journey.   • Leading and coordinating theatre activity across Breast & Plastics specialties
  • Providing expert clinical support and acting as a resource for your team
  • Managing and delivering individual care plans in the perioperative period
  • Guiding, supervising and supporting junior staff, students and HCAs
  • Liaising with consultants to ensure excellent service delivery and continuity of care
  • Recording and submitting data for relevant National Audits (e.g. Breast Registry)
  • Supporting staff development through appraisals, mentoring and day-to-day coaching
  • Participating in recruitment, induction and the disciplinary process when required
  • Leading on AFPP accreditation and ensuring CQC compliance across the department
  • Working flexibly across the theatre department and participating in on-call/weekend rotas
  • Practising in line with NMC/HCPC Codes and contributing to your own PDR objectives
  • Skills and Experience:
  • NMC or HCPC registration with a recognised nursing or ODP qualification
  • A minimum of 3 years' post-registration experience in theatres
  • Senior experience in Breast, Plastics or Reconstructive Surgery
  • Proven ability to lead teams, coordinate theatre lists and manage complex cases
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative approach to consultant relationships
  • Excellent understanding of patient safety and evidence-based practice
