We have an exciting opportunity for a Band 5 Staff Nurse to join our Theatre Recovery Unit. Job Profile
You'll be working in our 11-bedded Recovery Unit, providing high-quality post-operative care to patients across: Main Theatres, Day Surgery, Endoscopy, and Radiology. You will have the opportunity to work with a wide range of surgeries, including: General Surgery, ENT, Gynaecology, Hepatobiliary, Neuro-spinal, Ophthalmic, Orthopaedics, Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery, Robotic Surgery, Urology, Vascular, and Bariatric Surgery.
Job Type: This is a full-time, permanent position working 37.5 hours per week.
Salary: Band 5 Pay Scale - Depending on experience Location: The London Clinic, 20 Devonshire Place, London, W1G 6BW
Shift Pattern: We offer flexibility to support work-life balance with two main options:
Long Days: 3 shifts per week (07:30-21:00 or 09:00-22:30)5 shifts per week, rotating weekly - Early shifts (07:30 - 15:30) & Late shifts (14:30 - 22:30)Participation in our on-call rota is required.

Key Duties: Monitor patient's post-anaesthesia to ensure a safe recovery and respond promptly to any deterioration, supporting optimal outcomes.Deliver individualised care plans by assessing patient needs and tailoring recovery interventions to support a smooth transition back to the ward or discharge.Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation to support continuity of care and uphold patient safety.Manage airways and provide pain relief interventions as required, ensuring patient comfort and stability.Work closely with anaesthetists and theatre teams to coordinate safe handovers and align recovery care with surgical procedures.Support and supervise junior staff and students to foster a positive learning environment and uphold clinical standards.Adhere to infection control, health & safety, and controlled drugs protocols to ensure a safe and compliant recovery unit.
Skills & Experience: Registered Nurse (RGN) or Operating Department Practitioner (ODP) with valid NMC/HCPC registrationExcellent clinical judgement and calm under pressureStrong communication and teamwork skillsWillingness to work flexibly, including on-call shiftsAnaesthetic or multi-speciality theatre experienceSome experience in Recovery or Critical Care (e.g. ICU) Career Development Opportunities At The London Clinic, we invest in your professional journey.
