We have an exciting opportunity for a Band 5 Radiology Staff Nurse to join our Imaging team on a 12 month Fixed Term Contract based at The London Clinic in Central London, W1G 6BW, with a salary range of up to £46,014 inclusive per annum on offer dependent on skills and experience. With a clinical team of over 65 staff, the Imaging Department offers a full range of imaging services including CT, Interventional Radiology, Ultrasound, Fluoroscopy, Breast Imaging and Molecular Imaging. Job Profile The Radiology Senior Staff nurse will carry out many roles and responsibilities, providing high quality patient focused care, whilst assisting the consultant radiologists undertaking interventional procedures. Job Type: This is a full-time permanent position, working 37.5 hours per week. Shifts: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday Salary: up to £46, 014 inclusive per annum on offer dependent on skills and experience. Benefits package:

  • Key Duties
  • Scrubbing or circulating in the dedicated angiography suite and interventional fluoroscopy rooms during invasive cases such as peripheral angioplasty, IVC filter insertion, insertion of nephrostomies/ urethral stents and embolisation particularly uterine artery embolisations, CT guided radio frequency ablation and microwave ablation
  • Coordinate IR procedures scheduled. Determine availability of IR suites, equipment and IR staff for requested times. Communicated scheduling decisions to booking coordinator, Radiologists, anesthesia staff and IR staff. Update IR team to accommodate Radiologist requests for changes in scheduling
  • Responsible for the safe administering of IV medication and monitor these patients throughout procedures requiring sedation
  • Responsible for any patients/ visitors to the department who become unwell and for initiating emergency care as appropriate
  • To provide support to the Radiographers, Radiology Department Assistants, Nuclear Medicine Technologists
  • To provide clinical teaching and assess competencies of new staff
  • To act as a positive role model to junior staff members
  • To support the Radiology Sister and deputise in the absence and perform all related duties
  • The post holder will take a leadership role and lead by example in delivering expert clinical care at all times and lead on specific tasks

  • Minimum of 5 years experience working within an Interventional radiology setting, recognising acute changes in a patient's condition and instigate the appropriate action
