Job summary

The Operational Manager-Aseptic Services will be responsible for working with Pharmacy Quality Assurance (QA) to advance service improvements related to the manufacture of aseptically prepared pharmaceutical products within an unlicensed unit. As well as playing an active and strategic role in the development of processes, and implementation of change within the Aseptic Services Unit (ASU).

Main duties of the job

* Work with the DDW Lead Pharmacist and QA technical team to deliver and develop the aseptic services in line with departmental objectives, pharmaceutical legislation and national guidance. * Work with the DDW Lead Pharmacist and QA technical team to develop and improve internal processes, procedures and systems ensuring that all staff contribute to the safe and efficient working of the ASU. * To operationally manage the ASU including workload planning, staff rostering and capacity management * To ensure at all times that aseptic preparation is undertaken according to Standard Operating Procedures by staff that have been trained and assessed as competent to undertake those activities. * Ensure that all relevant SOP's and other associated documentation are kept up to date and reviewed appropriately within the stated document lifecycle.

Job responsibilities

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Operational Manager-Aseptic Services (Band 7) to join our Pharmacy Team. The post holder will be responsible for the operational management of the aseptic preparation service, according to the principles of Good Manufacturing Practice, Health and Safety at Work legislation, pharmaceutical guidelines relevant to aseptic dispensing, and departmental and corporate procedures at the Duchess of Devonshire Wing (DDW) Pharmacy. The London Clinic's Pharmacy Department are a close-knit team with around 45 staff members. The Pharmacy department comprises of 9 core services: On Call, Dispensary Services, Distribution and Top Up Service, Procurement, Clinical Ward Pharmacy Services, Provision of Total Parenteral Nutrition (TPN), Aseptic/Technical Services, Clinical Governance and Education and Training. We have extensive oncology services, including a purpose-built chemotherapy aseptic compounding suite. As well as an automated medication dispensing system which supports decentralised medicine management in numerous wards. Job Description The Operational Manager-Aseptic Services will be responsible for working with Pharmacy Quality Assurance (QA) to advance service improvements related to the manufacture of aseptically prepared pharmaceutical products within an unlicensed unit. As well as playing an active and strategic role in the development of processes, and implementation of change within the Aseptic Services Unit (ASU). Further supporting the development and maintenance of the ASU quality management systems, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and BD Cato compounding software. Job Type: Full Time, Permanent. Hours: 37.5 hours per week Location: The London Clinic 22 Devonshire Place, London, W1G 6BW. Salary: Band 7 equivalent salary range on offer based on skills and experience. Benefits package:
