Job summary
We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Staff Physicist to join our Medical Physics team at The London Clinic. We are offering a competitive inclusive salary of £62,978 - £73,997 per annum, depending on skills and experience.
Main duties of the job
The Senior Staff Physicist will contribute to a team providing comprehensive radiotherapy physics support, including routine quality assurance (QA) for two Varian Truebeam linear accelerators, a dedicated CT-Simulator and a Cyberknife system, alongside treatment planning system (TPS) QA and general daily physics support.
A key element of this role involves leading the management of imaging systems within the radiation oncology service, specifically for CT Simulator and Varian on-board imaging. This encompasses directing departmental QA, commissioning new imaging equipment, developing and optimising imaging protocols and delivering comprehensive education and training. The Senior Staff Physicist will ensure the safe and effective delivery of radiotherapy treatments and imaging, and will also be expected to support, conduct, and publish research.
The Medical Physics department supports the provision of radiotherapy utilising on-site state of the art equipment. The department operates two matched Varian Truebeam linear accelerators and an Accuray Cyberknife. Imaging support is provided by an in-house CTSim, 3T MRI and PET/CT. Treatment planning is performed using the Eclipse and Precision planning systems with ARIA R&V system. The service supports stereotactic radiotherapy with Varian HyperArc, motion management including Varian RPM and Surface-guided functionality.
