Job summary

Sciensus are currently looking for a Practice Development Nurse based in the East Midlands for our Virtual Ward teams. As a Practice Development Nurse you will improve standards of patient care and safety and assist in developing the service, nursing staff and their clinical practice, ensuring delivery of the highest possible standards of user focussed, clinical care within our virtual ward services. We have many different clinical pathways that include IV therapy and complex wound therapy.

Main duties of the job

You will provide the following services:

  • Mentoring and support to new and existing staff through education and clinical skills-based training in a variety of locations, empowering them to develop their own practice.
  • Assist in the development of new learning materials and on-going review of existing resources to ensure they meet the required learning outcomes.
  • Attend, organise and contribute to appropriate conferences, tutorials, study and induction days, running workshops and cascading updates to divisional nurses.
  • Communicate effectively within the team and to wider stakeholders, driving service improvement through effective clinical leadership.
  • Maintain own professional competency in relation to your areas of expertise.
  • Ensure compliance with the Health and Social Care Act regulations 2010.

As this is a regional role travelling to support staff at visits in the patients home setting, it is crucial that you have full UK driving licence happy to travel. Overnight stays can also be occasionally required.
