Job summary

 Priory Hospital Roehampton is seeking to appoint a Registered Psychologist with experience in eating disorders to join its multidisciplinary team. This is a part-time position of 22.5 hours per week, offering a pro-rata salary of £34,200, based on a full-time salary of £57,000. 

The role will involve working 3 days per week from 9:00am to 5:00pm, with flexibility available regarding the specific days worked. 

Main duties of the job

You will be part of a compassionate team who are committed to our patients wellbeing. We take a personalised approach, using proven therapies to help people move forward with confidence and build a healthier, more fulfilling future. You will play a key part in their recovery, assisting qualified staff with the assessment and implementation of individual patient care plans, undertaking routine tasks and activities as directed or delegated to facilitate wellbeing, dignity and treatment of patients.

  • You will be reporting to and receive supervision from the Principal Psychologist and/or the full-time Clinical Psychologist on the CAMHS Eating Inpatient Disorder Unit
  • Undertake specialist clinical duties contributing to the assessment and treatment of patients.
  • Provide Psychological Therapies for young people with an eating disorder, developing specialist psychological formulations and assessments of patients with complex presentations, formulating plans for treatment and implementing specialist psychological interventions for individuals and groups.
  • Provide specialist psychological assessments of patients based on appropriate analysis, interpretation, and integration of complex qualitative and quantitative data.
  • Administer and interpret assessments of cognitive and emotional functioning as required and to assist the multi-disciplinary team in diagnosis, problem formulation and the planning/development of an appropriate treatment plan.
  • You will plan, implement, and evaluate individual and group treatments, informed by formulations of patients problems based on appropriate theoretical and therapeutic models and best practice guidelines.

Desirable qualifications include having clinical supervision training and training in two or more distinct psychological therapies. Candidates would ideally demonstrate skills in both individual and group work, as well as in programme planning. Additional desirable competencies include the ability to use complex methods of psychological assessment to inform psychological formulation and intervention, along with well-developed communication skills to convey complex, highly technical, or clinically sensitive information effectively, both verbally and in writing.
