The closing date is 31 March 2026

Job summary

Priory Hospital Dewsbury is looking to recruit a Senior Occupational Therapist to join the team in our Jubilee Ward. This is a part time role of 30 hours per week.

The salary for this role is up to £40,000 depending on experience

Based in the residential area of Earlsheaton, West Yorkshire, Priory Hospital Dewsbury provides level 2 rehabilitation services divided into two wards. Care is for male patients who have mental health disorders and increasing physical health needs. We also offer neuropsychiatry support, support for older people and dementia, community-focused rehabilitation, and support for severe and enduring mental health.

Main duties of the job

Our work is rewarding but can be challenging, so resilience is key. No two days are the same! Your natural empathy will help you support others through both the highs and lows.

The role requires a qualified Occupational Therapist with a Diploma, Degree, Honours Degree, or Masters Degree in Occupational Therapy, along with accreditation by the HCPC and membership of the Royal College of Occupational Therapists (RCOT). The successful candidate will be able to think critically and reflectively when making professional judgements, including in complex and unpredictable situations, seeking guidance from peers and more experienced colleagues when needed. They will actively listen and incorporate the views of others to support shared decision-making. Prior experience working as a qualified Occupational Therapist is essential, ideally within an Occupational Therapy setting supporting elderly patients with physical health conditions and dementia-related needs.
