The ideal candidate will hold a formal qualification in Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) or a related field, such as a BSc in Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities, an MSc in Applied Behaviour Analysis, an MA or MSc in Autism Studies, or a PBS/ABA Graduate Diploma. They will have proven experience in conducting behavioural assessments and in developing, implementing, and evaluating interventions for individuals who present with behaviours that challenge, alongside a strong history of providing direct support to people with learning disabilities and/or autism. The role requires a detailed understanding of relevant legal frameworks and processes, including the Mental Health Act (1983), safeguarding, and risk management, as well as the willingness and ability to work in physically and emotionally demanding situations. The successful applicant will demonstrate the ability to work effectively within a team while also leading and positively influencing others, supported by excellent record-keeping, report-writing, and written communication skills. Experience in delivering PBS training and a demonstrated history of reducing the use of restrictive practices are essential. A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for business use are also required.

Main duties of the job
You will be part of a compassionate team who are committed to our patients wellbeing. You will play a key part in their recovery, assisting qualified staff with the assessment and implementation of individual patient care plans, undertaking routine tasks and activities as directed or delegated to facilitate wellbeing, dignity and treatment of patients
- Demonstrate best practice in the implementation of PBS, working with individuals, colleagues, key stakeholders, internal and external multidisciplinary teams, and families.
- Conduct Functional Behaviour Assessments.
- Develop and implement PBS plans.
- Provide staff training and development, including PBS, practice workshops, and other associated training.
