Job summary
Priory Hospital Ticehurst House is looking to recruit a Medical Secretary to join the team. This is a full time 37.5 hours role.
Main duties of the job
- Provide efficient and effective administrative support to the hospital and particularly the medical team. This will regularly include typing, minute taking, receiving telephone enquiries, diary and appointment management, managing correspondence, meeting and greeting visitors and other administrative tasks as appropriate. You will also be required to liaise with other Priory Healthcare sites and departments, Insurers, GPs and Commissioners regarding specific patient details and invoicing.
- To provide cross cover within specified Medical Secretaries teams, as assigned by your line manager.
- Provide exceptional customer service to our patients, ensuring a positive customer experience.
- You will be required to accurately record Independent Consultant time to ensure appropriate invoicing controls are in place for the hospital. Independent Consultant Time is designated as time you spend completing tasks assigned to you by a Consultant.
- Organise diaries and patient appointments directly with patients and Consultants whilst ensuring the hospital is providing the best possible service to patients.

We work collaboratively with the discharge teams to ensure a smooth transition back into existing community services, or to an individuals home, where possible.
Priorys acute services aim to allow more people to be treated closer to home and we support the NHS to repatriate out-of-area patients back to local areas.

They will be passionate about delivering a high-quality service to the hospital and making a real and lasting difference for everyone we support. Highly organised and detail-oriented, the ideal candidate will demonstrate strong prioritisation skills and exceptional attention to detail. They will be a reliable team player who works collaboratively to ensure the department runs effectively, while maintaining the highest levels of confidentiality and integrity. With experience in an administrative, customer service, clinical, or other relevant background, the ideal candidate will be comfortable working within established procedures and processes, while also showing adaptability and sound judgement when responding to the needs of patients and their families.
