A vacancy has arisen for a Consultant Psychiatrist.This is a part-time role working 26.25 hours per week.

Main duties of the job

You will be reporting to the Medical Director. You will be joining the 4 experienced full-time forensic consultants and two part-time consultants at the hospital, supported by a full-time resident doctor who provides out-of-hours cover. Each ward has a full multidisciplinary team (MDT), with a psychologist, occupational therapist and social worker. The hospital has a well-established system of clinical governance and a quality improvement programme.The successful candidate will actively participate in clinical governance at both ward and hospital levels. The on-call rota is 1 in 5 (non-resident) and covers Llanarth Court, Priory Hospital Cardiff, and Ty Cwm Rhondda. While the Resident Doctor at Llanarth handles most medical issues, occasional attendance may be required. Priory Hospital Cardiff is a bespoke therapeutic unit with up to four patients, and Ty Cwm Rhondda is a 20-bed low secure unit.For an informal discussion, please contact Dr. Ajat Sanikop, Medical Director, at ajatsanikop@priorygroup.com.
