Main duties of the job

  • Prepare admission packs
  • Record patient admissions and discharges on the relevant IT systems
  • Arrange sick certificates for patients on admission and throughout their stay as required
  • Obtain patient records from other hospitals as required
  • Ensure that all communication is within the boundaries of patient confidentiality, and seek guidance when unsure

Priory Stockton Hall is looking to recruit a ward clerk to join the team. This is a part time role of 19 hours.Priory Stockton Hall is a long-serving medium secure hospital based in a quiet but well-connected village near the historic city of York. It serves the local Provider Collaborative and multiple National Collaboratives, depending on clinical need, and has had a long-running record of successful patient pathways.

Your natural empathy will help you support others through both the highs and lows.We are looking for someone with an excellent standard of written and spoken English and strong IT skills, particularly in Microsoft applications. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a customer-focused attitude, be highly organised, able to prioritise effectively, and show flexibility and adaptability in their work. A strong team ethic and the ability to maintain professional boundaries are essential. Previous experience in an administrative roleideally within a similar setting, though not essentialis desirable, as is experience working with or liaising with other organisations.
