looking for a Registered Mental Health Nurse to join their extensive clinical
and nursing team at Priory Hospital Preston to provide the highest standards of
care in line with the excellent reputation we are known for!
Main duties of the job

About us
The Priory Hospital Preston is part of the Priory Group, Europes
leading provider of specialist treatment in mental health. Set within lush and
green hospital grounds, within easy reach of the M6 and M55 and with free
parking on site, it is a 38-bedded independent mental health hospital which
provides Adult inpatient care across 2 Acute wards and 1 Eating Disorder ward. The hospital sits within close proximity to
the M6 and M55, making for excellent transport links for staff.
The hospital specialises in the management and treatment of patients
experiencing an acute mental health crisis with two dedicated acute wards as
well as a specialised unit to support patients with a diagnosis of an eating
disorder. Services work in partnership with the NHS to provide the best quality
outcomes for all patients. It has an established reputation for providing the
highest standards of care together with an extensive range of services
delivered across the three units.
An extensive clinical and nursing team work alongside therapy
disciplines of Psychology, Occupational Therapy, Dietetics and Activity
Coordinators throughout the hospital.
Patients can access ward specific therapeutic programmes aimed at
enhancing skills, self-care, coping strategies etc to support their admission
and discharge into the community.

Job responsibilities
- Caring for patients with acute conditions
- Building relationships and responding to the patients physical and
emotional needs, while delivering effective care.
- Administering patients' medications and treatments
- Monitoring patients
- Dealing with the specific symptoms of mental illness, de-escalating
stressful situations and helping patients overcome challenges.
- Interacting with patients' families and other care staff - offering
advice and information on patients' conditions.
- Preparing and maintaining patients records, producing care plans and
risk assessments
- Organizing group therapy sessions, including social and artistic events,
aimed at promoting patients' mental recovery
