Job summary

ABL Health and Nottinghamshire County Council are partnering to deliver an Integrated Wellbeing Service across Nottinghamshire called Your Health Notts. This transformative service will play a central role in system change, bringing previously separate lifestyle behaviour change functions together into one service. It seeks to work collaboratively with communities to support the transformation of services for the local population. The service will provide integrated behaviour support for smoking cessation, weight management, alcohol reduction, physical activity and falls prevention, all embedded in sustainable behaviour change and positive wellbeing.

Main duties of the job

Key responsibilities include managing the Smoke Free Generation project for the Notts IWS service to achieve overall KPI targets, working closely with Secondary Care to establish smooth referral pathways, and overseeing the day-to-day line management of a team of SFG Stop Smoking Practitioners, including managing absences, annual leave, staffing issues, and expenses. The post-holder will address operational issues, report to the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) as required, and support operational meetings by maintaining action logs and ensuring follow-through. They will monitor service performance daily via Power BI and databases, identify trends and areas of concern, develop and maintain systems to track project performance, and implement district-specific plans to meet targets. Additional duties include supporting operational changes to drive performance, managing monthly payroll updates, tracking commissioner requests and report deadlines, assisting Project Leads with complex HR issues, reviewing staff capacity, running spot checks on caseloads, attending high-level external meetings, and carrying out performance meetings with the Deputy Head of Service. The role also supports the mobilisation of new contracts and ensures all referrals to the MDT are managed, representing the Nottingham service at monthly MDT meetings.

Job responsibilities

Role Purpose:

You will be expected to provide direct operational support to the Nottinghamshire senior management team, ensuring Smoke Free generation (SFG) project and managed and completed in a timely manner. You will be responsible for compiling data required to monitor the performance of the Smoke Free generation (SFG) contract in Nottinghamshire and take on some responsibility for the day-to-day running of the IWS.

Duties and Responsibilities

This post will work under the line management of the Senior Operations Lead and will also provide support to the Head of Service. The role will be varied, challenging, and rewarding as you support and develop the service(s) through implementation, delivery and ongoing innovation and service development.

Key responsibilities will be:

Manage the Smoke Free Generation project of the Notts IWS service to ensure the overall KPI target is met

Work closely with Secondary Care to ensure sooth pathways are set up for patients to be referred into the service

Oversee day to day line management of a team of SFG Stop Smoking Practitioners including absence, annual leave, expenses, staffing issues etc.

Deal with the day to day operational issues and report to SLT where required or to consult on more complex matters.

Support at operation meetings e.g. mini PRB and Ops meetings by maintaining action log and work with leads to ensure actions are completed.

Monitor service performance daily through use of Power BI and database providing SLT with updates during a morning briefing, identifying trends and areas of concern.

Develop, independently manage and maintain systems to monitor project performance and enable achievement of key milestones. This will include devising a plan for district specific targets based on activity levels.

Support DHOS with implementation of operational changes that may be required to drive performance.

Manage and submit monthly payroll updates.

Keep track of commissioner requests, deadlines for reports and data submissions. Ensure actions from leads are followed up and information is submitted to SLT in a timely manner to finalise reports.

Support Project Leads with complex HR issues.

Regularly monitor and review staff capacity and run spot checks on individual caseloads to ensure equity across the service.

Attend high-level external meetings as required.

Review reports daily, weekly, monthly to ensure efficiency within the service

Carry out Performance meetings with the Deputy Head of Service on a weekly basis

Support mobilisation of new contracts into the service

Ensure all referrals to MDT and represent the Nottingham service at the monthly MDT meeting

Skills and Competencies Required

Be an experienced manager use to working in a health and/or community setting

Experienced working with Microsoft Office and database systems

Positive and proactive working at pace with multiple tasks

Adept in communication; positive and welcoming communication style with all patients, health professionals and colleagues

Build strong relationships; good team player happy to work as part of a team and work independently on own tasks

Quality driven; you naturally seek high standards and actively seek to improve them.
