Job responsibilities
You will be a Healthy Lifestyle Advisor for Your Health Bolton, delivering our targeted weight management curriculum, including engaging and informative nutrition sessions and suitable physical activity contributing towards getting the residents of Bolton active through our interventions.
You will be a motivated, passionate, organised, and proactive advisor, with experience working in community health programmes. You will be passionate about promoting healthy lifestyles and delivering motivational change which is client centred. You will have a background in supporting people to build their confidence and ability to make sustainable healthy behaviour changes which works for their personal circumstances.
Our team have working backgrounds in nutrition, weight management, exercise, brief alcohol advice and smoking cessation. We offer you a full in-house training package to help you support our clients on their journey to a sustainable healthy lifestyle change.
Deliver group weight management sessions, incorporating nutrition, physical activity, and behaviour change in line with ABL Health protocols and NICE guidance
Lead client-centred assessments and use motivational interviewing and positive psychology techniques to support individual progress
Maintain a client caseload, monitoring progress and directing individuals to suitable lifestyle interventions
Accurately complete all administrative duties, including client records and data entry, in line with organisational procedures
Keep knowledge and qualifications up to date to ensure evidence-based practice
Develop and contribute to service resources and improvements
Support goal setting using SMART principles and work flexibly within a multi-disciplinary team to address wider lifestyle factors (e.g., alcohol, smoking, physical activity)
Participate in ongoing training, team meetings, and ensure adherence to clinical governance and quality standards
Attend stakeholder events to help promote the service and encourage referrals

Information Governance
Employees of ABL Health must comply with the provisions of GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. The postholder must not; either during the course of their employment, or following termination of their employment, disclose any information relating to service users or employees, or of the lawful business practices, of the organisation.
The postholder will be required, when and where appropriate to the role, to comply with the processing of requests under the Freedom of Information Act 2000
The postholder must comply with ABLs policies that protect the information assets of the organisation from unauthorised disclosure, modification, destruction, inappropriate access, or use. The postholder will be responsible for maintaining the clinical and/or corporate records that fall within the remit of this role to the standards in ABLs records management policies, and data quality processes and standards.
Health & Safety
Compliance with the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 the postholder is required to fulfil a proactive role towards the management of risk in all of their actions. This entails the risk assessment of all situations, the taking of appropriate actions and reporting of all incidents, near misses and hazards, and a statutory duty of care for their own personal safety and that of others who may be affected by their acts or omissions.

ABL has a responsibility to ensure that all children / young people and adults are adequately safeguarded and protected. Consequently, all ABLs employees, temporary staff and volunteers are required to adhere to ABLs safeguarding policies / procedures in addition to local and national safeguarding policies and to act upon any concerns in accordance with them.

Training
The postholder must attend any training that is identified as mandatory to their role.
