Job summary
As a Biomedical Scientist Team Manager you will be expected to organise and manage a team of Biomedical Scientists, Junior staff and Support staff performing Biomedical analyses and processes. You will be responsible to ensure a high quality of analysis agreed quality standards of service delivery and key performance indicators. You will provide an expert level of theoretical and practical knowledge to the laboratory service. As a Team Manager you will be responsible for and ensure that specialist training is delivered to Biomedical Scientists, Healthcare Support Workers and other Healthcare Professionals and to provide expert technical advice in areas of responsibility to all Healthcare Professionals. You will need to ensure that all areas of responsibility comply with all relevant current and future legislation and complies with the requirements of Medical Laboratories UKAS 15189:2022 and the recommendations from the Royal College of Pathologists and similar professional organisations.
You will be expected to provide professional leadership to Specialist Biomedical Scientists, Trainees BMS and Pathology Support staffs. Additionally you will need to o undertake research, conduct audits, produce reports and present findings to Healthcare professionals as required. You will be expected to continue with personal development through Academic or practical experience.
Successful candidate will be eligible for a joining bonus of £5,000 and £1,500 Wellbeing allowance.
Main duties of the job
An exciting opportunity has arisen at The Christie Pathology Partnership (CPP) for a suitably qualified and experienced Biomedical Scientist Team Manager to join our Blood Sciences department.
We are looking for a keen, enthusiastic Biomedical Scientist with an interest in developing services to help us continue to deliver exceptional, high-quality integrated care to our patients. CPP is an excellent place to train and develop new skills, and further study will be supported. This is a particularly interesting time to join CPP as plans are currently under discussion for the construction of an Advanced Pathology Centre at the Christie.
