Job summary

We are excited to be adding to our talented multi-disciplinary team by recruiting a Senior MSK Pain clinician to our Community Pain service in South West Essex. You will act as a source of clinical knowledge on the management of persistent pain disorders and chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS) and providing an advisory service to patients, GPs, Consultants and the wider community of SWEX. This would be achieved by establishing clinical credibility in order to facilitate successful partnership working and the delivery and development of high-quality pain management for patients.

To work as an autonomous practitioner, within scope of practice and deliver a quality clinical service meeting the clinical and commercial needs of the Community Pain Management Services contract with senior support as required.

To develop and promote a positive and dynamic image and culture to both internal and external stakeholders. At all times striving to reflect and encourage core value behaviours

Work effectively as part of multi-professional workforce to provide holistic care to the patient population within the biopsychosocial model of care and communicate effectively with local stakeholders (including GPs, Consultants)

Main Purpose of Role

To work as an autonomous practitioner, within scope of practice and deliver a quality clinical service meeting the clinical and commercial needs of the Community Pain Management Services contract with senior support as required.

To develop and promote a positive and dynamic image and culture to both internal and external stakeholders. At all times striving to reflect and encourage core value behaviours

Key Tasks

Clinical

Determine Clinical diagnosis and provide treatment indicated as an autonomous practitioner, developing appropriate packages of care, giving specialist clinical / professional advice to patients, carers and other Health Care Professionals.

Undertake comprehensive assessment and diagnosis of patients with a wide variety of physical, and emotional needs. To formulate, deliver, review and progress individual treatment programmes, ensuring effective treatment, specialist advice and timely discharge is achieved.

Evaluate own clinical practice through use of outcome measures, reflection and audit, to facilitate continuous improvement for our patients and promote evidencebased practice.

Maintain patient documentation, records and accurate statistical information to reflect care provided and to meet professional and company standards and local and national guidelines.

Demonstrate a sound understanding of Clinical Governance, including ability to audit own practice.

Responsible for organisation, prioritisation and planning of own caseload with support from our patient coordination centre.

To demonstrate clinical competencies to required company standards

Be flexible in methods of clinical delivery, including working at agreed sites within the contractual area to meet the varied needs of our patients. Treatment may include but is not limited to; individual assessment, advice, screening, treatment and rehab, group rehab, pain management programs and educational seminars.;

To conduct all clinical interventions and related actions in line with relevant professional standards, such as CSP, HPC, ACPSM, BASRaT, SST as well as Connect standards and policies and where applicable, contract parameters.

To demonstrate a commitment to ongoing professional development and to maintain a contemporary record of such activity, in line with recommendations of relevant standards CSP, HPC, BASRaT and SST

To attend timetabled in service training and mandatory training programme, as well as other Connect educational initiatives which may be outside of contracted time

To be willing to share knowledge and skills and actively participate in the Connect Clinical Academy to support ongoing learning and development.

Non Clinical

Be responsible for the day-to-day organisation of the services of the clinics in which they are placed ensuring services are delivered efficiently and with high levels of patient satisfaction.

Contribute to service development/improvement and change, by identifying and liaising with team and Line Manager.

Communicate regularly and appropriately with colleagues and staff within his/her areas/sites of practice.

Be involved in regularly reviewing and updating the services, including the collation and presentation of basic statistical information regarding the delivery and outcomes of the service provided.

Utilise IT systems provided to track and record patient interactions, complete and submit service and HR data requirements, and review and respond to internal/external communications.

To demonstrate understanding and compliance with company policies and procedures including Safeguarding of Adult at Risk Policy and Child Protection and Safeguarding Policy.

To demonstrate ability to identify concerns regarding child safeguarding, welfare and child protection and safeguarding of adults at risk.

To understand the processes for escalating concerns regarding child protection, welfare and safeguarding for their service or region

To ensure that their own personal mandatory training is up to date including refresher training.
