Job summary
We are looking for
an enthusiastic and skilled Consultant in Sport and Exercise Medicine to drive,
innovate and deliver on clinical expertise, leadership and quality in a dynamic
Musculoskeletal (MSK) service. This role can be based at a selection of the listed locations.
You will be part
of an energetic multi-disciplinary team of physiotherapists, osteopaths, sports
therapists, podiatrists and nurses delivering expert clinical care serving Oxfordshire. There are approximately 15
locations across the site and we would be happy to collaborate on locations
that would be suitable to you depending on availability.
You will have
excellent clinical MSK skills including being competent to inject under
ultrasound-guidance. You will also have diagnostic ultrasound skills with the
ability to use ultrasound as an extension to the clinical assessment.
Opportunities are available for further teaching and mentoring in diagnostic
and therapeutic ultrasound if required. You will be confident is managing
complex cases and will support clinicians in training with their development.
Developing and
promoting a positive and dynamic image and culture, you will be key in
fostering productive relationships with key stakeholders such as local
Consultants and GPs.
Main duties of the job
You will utilise Sports expertise to function as a musculoskeletal specialist, managing a varied and complex clinical caseload within the community service contract. This will include:
Providing Consultant Leadership in our integrated MSK Service
Delivery of SEM-relevant clinical services in line with clinical, information governance standards and reporting requirements for Connect Health
Working with the Service Clinical Lead on ensuring all clinical services are developed and delivered in line with Connect 10/10 clinical guidelines, clinical governance requirements and national standards as defined by relevant medical bodies
Ensuring the appropriate policies and procedures are practiced within MSK services to comply with internet and external standards, and where appropriate any legislative and statutory requirements
To contribute to a positive image and culture within Connect Health services and nationally, visible to both internal and external stakeholders

- On the GMC specialist register for SEM or within 6 months of achieving this
- Fellow of the Faculty of SEM
- Medical Indemnity cover available if required
- GMC Revalidation and annual appraisal in place
