dependent on the level of your training. You can even get involved in biopsy if

Location/Benefits:
This is a 12-month fixed-term contract, based in our Nottingham clinic (Nottingham Business Park, NG8 6PZ). Working Mon to Fri (either 08:00-16:00 or 09:00-17:00) with weekends on a rota.

Job description
Job responsibilities
As a Senior Embryologist youll perform all routine laboratory duties. Including sperm preparation, semen analysis, oocyte collection, fertilisation checking, embryo grading and annotation, embryo transfer, embryo cryopreservation, embryo thawing, oocyte cryopreservation, oocyte thawing, ICSI and embryo biopsy.
You will work with the multi-disciplinary team and will be a critical component in providing our patients with the best possible treatment experience and as a team to give each patient the very best chance of success.

Clinical duties
Perform all routine laboratory duties as detailed above ensuring the highest standard of patient care at all times.
Ensure compliance with UKAS standards for diagnostic semen analysis.
Assist in stock control and ordering of laboratory reagents and consumables.
Comply with laboratory quality control procedures and policies.
Assist in the organisation of laboratory data collection.
Supervise and undertake the training of scientists and support staff acting as a mentor for more junior staff and setting a professional example at all times.
Take on a specific area of responsibility as assigned by the Laboratory Manager, including but not exclusive to: imports and exports, storage expiry, validation and audit.
Attend Patient Information Events when required.
Be able to work flexible hours to accommodate the needs of the clinical work.
Participate in weekend work and on-call rotation, as required.
Be involved in overseas work where applicable, and to work at other Care units as required.
Participate in any research projects within the laboratory if required.

Maintain accurate records of all clinical and diagnostic laboratory activities performed including cryopreserved gametes and embryos.
To comply with the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authoritys Code of Practice, the Care Standards Act 2008, the Care Standards Regulations 2010 and the Data Protection Act, with special reference to patient confidentiality.
Proactively use the Datix incident reporting system to record any incidents and near misses. Act with integrity, being open and honest so that we learn from each other and achieve better outcomes.
Support quality management practices including participating in audit activities.
Follow Infection Control and Prevention policies and requirements.
Undertake mandatory training and actively participate in the learning pathways provided by the Company.
Follow Adult Safeguarding policy and requirements.
To comply with the Health and Safety policies with particular reference to procedures to be followed in the event of a fire and to report all accidents and untoward incidents to the Health and Safety officer.
