Theatre Healthcare Assistant - Fixed Term

Job summary

We're looking for dedicated and patient-focused Healthcare Assistants to join our Bristol theatre team on a fixed term basis until the end of March 2026. We are happy to consider full or part time applications; candidates will be expected to work weekends on a rota basis.

You'll play an active role in the theatre pathway, supporting patients and the multidisciplinary team to ensure a safe and positive patient journey.

Main duties of the job

• Support patients through their full surgical pathway, from admissions to theatre and discharge.
• Assist in preparing theatre, conducting safety checks, and supporting the scrub nurse and theatre team.
• Provide patient care during discharge, including information on post-surgical care and medication dispensing (following training and competencies).
• Maintain accurate records and documentation with a focus on patient safety.
• Put patients at ease, working in a calm and process-driven way to deliver excellent care.
