Role Overview
Reporting to the Operations Director, the Referrer Relationship Lead is responsible for developing great relationships with all optical partners, and driving ophthalmology referrals into the service. This is a blended role, and it is expected that 3-4 days per week will be field-based travelling throughout Northamptonshire, South Leicestershire and Milton Keynes areas, with the remaining time spent within the service, planning, analysing data, building effective referrer engagement plans and tracking overall referrer performance. You will be promoting Newmedica Northamptons services, patient choice, as well as be an ambassador for our behaviours and vision within the community.

ROLE SUMMARY
Reporting
to the Operations Director the Referrer Relationship Lead is responsible for driving
the development and growth ofpatientreferrals into Northampton
Newmedica. The role will work across the Northampton, Milton Keynes, South
Leicestershire and surrounding designated geographical areasto deliver
the required referral numbers to achieve business sales and profit targets for
Northampton Newmedica.You will be expected to travel 3-4 days per week
across the region to ensure all optical partners are visited regularly, and are
kept informed of all service developments and pathways available for patients
to choose.
As
the main point of contact forNewmedica Northampton you will be highly
visible and travel within the community surrounding our Northampton hospital,
working with our optical partners to build local relationships and referrer
engagement plans (e.g.Opticians, GPs, Referral Management Centres, LOCs),
promotingNewmedicaservices and patient choice to drive referral
volumes.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
You
will quickly build strong and effective working relationships withhospital
partnersand the wider Northampton Team, as well as working with the
Support Office Engagement and Marketing Teams.
You will develop a solid and practical understanding of the local
referral community.
You
will ensure that both NHS and Private services are promoted and communicated to
the local referral community and support local marketing activity to drive
private sales.
You
will work closely with our Private Patient Lead.
Building
on local knowledge and utilising referral data, you will identify who are the
leading referrers (GPs and & Optometrists) across the territory, and create
a focused action plan based on the type and location of the store that require
additional support to understand the benefits of offering Northampton Newmedica
as the Ophthalmology referrer of choice.
Ensure
all marketing literature used is up to date and kept refreshed enabling our
referring partners to have the correct and relevant information on hand to give
to their patients.
Be
able to have professional and engaging conversations with store partners,
directors, optometrists and other store colleagues.
Maintain
a committed approach to continued professional development and clinical
governance, including participating in appraisal process, clinical audits and
research as required.
To
work with the Partners to promote, plan and deliver our annual CPD programme
aligned to the requirements of the territory, and the clinicians [this will
involve working occasional evenings throughout the year to support the delivery
of the CPD & Engagement Programme]

- Demonstrable understanding and experience of Care Quality Commission and other regulatory bodies.
- Experience of working within a multi-site clinical environment. Knowledge of NHS policy landscape and referral routes is desirable
- Working in a healthcare services environment, preferably in optics or ophthalmology services
- Experience of organising and managing promotional, networking or CPD events is desirable
- Influencing and negotiation skills
- Personable approach to face to face engagement
