hospital in Peterborough. As one of only a very few private hospitals to be
commissioned in recent years, this a very rare opportunity to be part of an
exciting project to develop surgical and diagnostics services and support in
shaping our service delivery.

In this role you will be an
integral part of a small theatre team. We would expect you to provide the
required clinical expertise and leadership to run the theatre safely
and with efficiency.
Main duties of the job
The Lead Practitioner will maintain the efficiency of the running of the list by taking charge and scrubbing for the list as necessary. Education and training support is an important part of staff development. As such the Lead Practitioner will be central to the delivering that support and feedback as required. Participation in appropriate training and development will be a regular feature for all colleagues as will an appraisal process. The Lead Practitioner will be responsible for theatre stock management, this will include the ordering of sets and consumables as required. The Lead Practitioner will be central to participating in planning the current and upcoming theatre lists. This will involve close liaison with the Theatre Manager and other senior members of hospital staff.

The Theatre Lead Practitioner- Orthopaedics (LP) will always act in the best interests of the patient and colleagues, putting them before their own needs. They will provide care that is person centred, safe and compassionate. Always acting professionally, they will communicate effectively, be a role model for others and remain accountable for their actions. The LP will be expected to reflect on their practice and maintain knowledge, which is current, whilst following new developments in healthcare.

All colleagues will report health and safety incidents including near misses through the RADAR risk management tool. All colleagues will be involved in clinical audit and the delivery of clinical governance. Departmental policies and Standard Operating Procedures are to be adhered to; but also, are required to be reviewed within an agreed timeframe. Colleagues will be encouraged to offer input into keeping those policies current.

- Demonstrates a good working knowledge and compliance with CQC Standards.
- The ability to make decisions and use own initiative.
