We have an exciting opportunity for Mental Health Clinical Lead to join our Mental Health team at HMP Kirkham, a category D Prison located in Kirkham, Preston.
The prison has it s own Healthcare department where you will be based and the primary care team consists of a team of 10 HMP Kirkham is a capacity of 700 males. As a Clinical Lead you will be responsible for leading a team of four including 2 x senior mental health nurse, nursing associate, and healthcare assistant, you will also work closely with the wider healthcare team, delivering a 50/50 split of clinical care and managerial duties.- Onsite parking

Hours:
- Monday - Friday
- 37.5 hours per week
- 8am - 4pm around
- In the near future there will be weekend work required around 1 weekend in 4
Salary:
This position is part time, youll receive an annual salary between £51,643 - £58,012 depending on experience

Main duties of the job
As a Mental Health Clinical Lead, your responsibilities will vary. You will
- Work as part of and lead the Mental Health team within the Integrated Healthcare Services team.
- Provide clinical leadership and management to Registered nurses and allied health professionals.
- Establish inter-agency working where necessary to ensure good communication increases quality of care for patients.
- Ensuring that own clinical practice is consistent with autonomous practice within the role.
- Based on the Wellbeing Approach and Practice Plus mental Health policy, provide nursing triage and screening and assessment.
- Actively participate with the development of local operating procedures to ensure pathways are clear for clinicians
- Ensuring all complaints / concerns relating to Mental Health are dealt with in a timely fashion.
- Nurse lead treatment or care within mental health
- Confirm waiting list are well managed ensuring minimal waiting times for patients
- Medicines management/advice including supporting medicine administration

Qualifications required
- Registered Mental Health Nurse - NMC
- Experience of providing supervision
- Teaching / Mentoring experience and /or qualification Experience
- Evidence of appropriate continuing professional development activity to maintain up-to-date knowledge and on-going competence in all aspects of the role
Although not essential ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community or prison environment.
