We're looking for a compassionate and motivated Healthcare Assistant to join our busy Outpatients and Pre-Assessment team. Working alongside our friendly nursing and multidisciplinary teams, you'll play a vital role in supporting clinics, helping patients feel at ease, and ensuring every individual receives safe, high quality care.This is a part-time position (22.5 hours per week), ideal for someone who wants to develop their clinical skills within a supportive environment while making a meaningful difference to patients every day.
Main duties of the job
As our Healthcare Assistant, you will:
- Support registered nurses in delivering highquality, patientcentred care across Outpatients and PreAssessment.
- Carry out routine clinical tasks such as taking vital signs, venepuncture, ECGs, urinalysis and peak flows (training provided if needed).
- Act as a chaperone for clinics including ENT, Gynaecology and PeriAnal, ensuring patients feel safe and supported.
- Assist with coordinating clinic flow, helping ensure appointments run smoothly and efficiently.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families and colleagues within the multidisciplinary team.
- Maintain excellent standards of cleanliness, infection control and patient safety.
- Take responsibility for essential administrative duties such as preparing paperwork, managing test results and updating patient information accurately.
- Continue developing your skills through ongoing training, competency assessments and annual appraisal sessions.
