Consultant - ENT - Specialising predominantly in Ears

Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our multi-discipline medical team. You will be a highly valued member of our team bringing your expertise and skills in ENT, Specialising predominantly in major ear surgeries. 

You will be required to perform ENT procedures on patients referred to the treatment centre, working in accordance with treatment centre protocols and working practices.   We are also open to part-time hours.   These will include:  Minor Ear:
  • including excision of lesion
Major Ear:
  • Tympanoplasty, Mastoidectomy, and possibly some more complex procedures 
  In time consultants joining Practice Plus Group will be guided through the process to achieve accreditation with BUPA, applicants already with this accreditation are considered favourably and encouraged to highlight this in their application.

Main duties of the job

  As part of our professional, friendly and compassionate team you will do everything you can to ensure the patients treatment is of the highest standard whether NHS or privately funded. You will be performing ENT surgical procedures on patients referred to the Hospital, working in accordance with hospital protocols and working practices. You will participate in the outpatient clinic prior to surgery, and in all aspects of the operative care of the patients. It is anticipated that you will spend the equivalent of at least three days of a full time post in the operating theatre. As UK registered medical professional, with a listing on the Specialist GMC register, we will support you with your ongoing CPD and career development.   Please ensure that your CV used in applying includes details of what interested you in the role as well as describing relevant experience within the past 3 years i.e. number of cases performed and outcomes from national database (when relevant).

About us

 You will need/have;  

  • Clinical skills in all aspects of ENT surgery
  • Able to offer expert clinical opinion on range of problems within ENT surgery
  • Full and Specialist GMC Registration in relevant speciality
  • UK registerable Medical Degree
  • FRCS[ENT} or appropriate specialist qualification
  • Relevant CCT or equivalent
  • Past record of academic achievement
