We have a fantastic opportunity for a Quality and Stock Coordinator / Porter to join the team at HMP Leeds, a category B male prison located near Leeds city centre. The prison houses men on remand as well as those who are sentenced and is very busy, with a high turnover of inmates.

This is a key role within the team, ensuring that deliveries are collected and stored accurately, and that stock levels are maintained.    This role can be physically demanding, and involves moving and lifting heavier items.

 

Hours

This position is full time working 37.5 hours per week. Shifts are 8am - 4pm / 9am - 5pm.

  Salary

You will receive an annual salary of up to £28,574 per annum depending on experience.

Main duties of the job

As our new Quality and Stock Coordinator / Porter, your responsibilities will vary. Some of your duties will include:

  • Collect deliveries from the gate, and ensure that all supplies and medication is unpacked and stored in the correct locations
  • Load and unload trolleys and cages, transporting supplies around the prison
  • Be responsible for stock ordering, and monitor stock levels within healthcare and clinics, rotating as necessary
  • Continuously look for ways to improve the portering and quality service 
  • Carry out admin duties as needed to support the team

Our new Quality and Stock Coordinator / Porter will:
  • Be able to move and handle heavier items and loads, transporting good around the prison, with the help of trolleys and cages
  • Be proactive, and on the lookout for ways to improve the service
  • Any porting experience would be a bonus, as would any experience within stock management / inventory
  • Have good IT skills, and ideally some admin experience
