We have a fantastic opportunity for a Healthcare Assistant to join the Substance Misuse team at HMP Lindholme, a Category C male adult prison based in Doncaster, with operational capacity of around 900.
This is a crucial role within the healthcare team, making a real difference to patients, and delivering outstanding care. This role offers excellent developmental opportunities and is a great environment to build on your experience and gain new skills! This role sits within our Substance Misuse team, which ahs around 300 patients, and no 2 days are ever the same!Hours
This position is a part time role, working 17.5 hours per week. Ideally, shifts will be Monday and Friday, although we can be flexible on this.
Shifts are Monday - Friday between 8am and 4pm usually. Salary This position is part time , youll receive an annual salary of up to £29,723 per annum FTE - depending on experience.How will we support you?

#LI-AB1Main duties of the job
As our new Healthcare Assistant, your responsibilities will vary. Some of your duties will include:
- Deliver exceptional care to patients, both in the healthcare department and on the wings
- Facilitate clinics and patient screening, including venepuncture / bloods, observations (obs), ECGs, NHS Health checks etc
- Carry out urine drug screening
- Have meaningful patient contact, such as facilitate educational groups on drug awareness and other areas
- Be involved in the implementation of clinical care packages
- Support the substance misuse nursing team with all aspects of care
- Act as a second checker in pharmacy as required
- Support receptions (new patients entering the prison) and assist with triaging new patients

Our new Healthcare Assistant will:- Venepuncture training and experience is essential
- Ideally hold an NVQ Level 2 or 3 qualification in Health & Social Care, or Care Certificate
- Have experience in a clinical care setting previously - ideally from a hospital or prison setting
- Have clinical experience - observations, ECGs etc
- Have a non-judgemental and compassionate approach
