We have an exciting opportunity for a Bank Inpatient Nurse to join our Inpatient team at HMP Wakefield, a category A Prison located in West Yorkshire.
Hours
12 hour shifts covering Monday to Sunday - 0700-1915 - Ad-hoc to cover annual leave, sickness, training etc.
Hourly rate
£23.83 per hour weekdays / £25.68 weekends

Main duties of the job
As an Inpatient Nurse, your responsibilities will vary. You will
- Work within a multi-disciplinary team to deliver a nurse led service and prevent hospital admissions.
- Undertake medication rounds, dispense controlled medication, attend emergency response situations, assess patients, and undertake reception screening.
- Use your skills and knowledge to deliver nurse led clinics to your patient group whilst being supported by a multi-disciplinary team.
- Contribute to our nursing strategy and vision to; Provide outstanding evidence based care to our patients, seeking out, listening to and acting on their feedback, so that care is personalised and informed by what matters to them.
- Deliver non-judgemental care that makes a real difference, as defined throughout our bespoke Health in Justice competency framework

- Registered nurse Adult
- Experience in Palliative care - would be desirable and care planning
- Current professional qualification (NMC)
- Evidence of Continued Professional Development
- Understanding of the complexities of multi-disciplinary and multi-agency working
- Understanding of clinical governance, health and safety, QOF, EBP and national standards
Although not essential ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community or prison environment.
