We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Registered General Nurse/ Paramedic to join our team at HMP Belmarsh, a category A and local remand prison, with a high secure as well located in London.
HMP Belmarsh is a male, maximum security prison that has a capacity for 730 inmates. Healthcare at HMP Belmarsh includes, Dentists, Primary Care, Mental Health, Substance misuse, Pharmacy, Inpatient and Emergency response teams. A well organised prison with a strong team.
Lots of parking on-site, on-gym, canteen, PPG pathway which offers lots of development, training and an extensive induction period.Hours
37.5 hours a week working 3 weeks of days and one week of nights, with 1 weekend in 4. Day time shifts - 0700 - 1900 Night shifts - 1900 - 0700Salary
This position is full time, youll receive an annual salary up to £55,086 per annum FTE - depending on experience.

Main duties of the job
As a Senior Primary Care Nurse, your responsibilities will vary. You will
- Lead a multi-disciplinary team to deliver a nurse led service and prevent hospital admissions
- Undertake medication rounds, dispense controlled medication, attend emergency response situations, assess patients, and undertake reception screening
- Provide outstanding evidence based care to our patients, seeking out, listening to and acting on their feedback, so that care is personalised and informed by what matters to them.
- Deliver non-judgemental care that makes a real difference
- Inspire excellence by forging strong links with our partners and stakeholders and providing a service that people can trust, feel safe within, and feel proud of
- Promote best practice, clinical supervision, evidence based care and continuous quality improvement, embedding a culture of shared learning.
- Share knowledge, skills and expertise to ensure safe care, building strong multi-disciplinary teams and supporting each other to do a great job.

Qualifications required:
- Registered Adult nurse A&E experience or Urgent Care Centre
- Experienced Paramedic - Post registration experience is essential
- Ideally some leadership experience - As will be leading a team
- Current professional qualification (NMC)
- Evidence of Continued Professional Development
- Understanding of the complexities of multi-disciplinary and multi-agency working
Although not essential ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community or prison environment.
