We have an exciting opportunity for a Dietetic Assistant to join our Healthcare team at HM/ICR name, a category C Prison located in Oxfordshire.
HMP Huntercombe is a male foreign national prison. We are recruiting for a Dietetic Assistant to support the dietician with dietetic plans, weekly weigh ins, weight management, dietary advice, promotion of healthy eating and lifestyle, exercise, measurements, health promotion, screening patients, care plan for diabetes and long term conditions as well as other tasks.Hours
15 hours a week (Not Fridays)Salary
This position is full time, youll receive an annual salary up to £30,166 per annum FTE - depending on experience. Will be pro rata for 15 hours per week.

Main duties of the job
As an Dietetic Assistant your responsibilities will vary. You will
- Screen patients to collect a range of qualitative and quantitative data by a range of methods including face to face and telephone.
- Deliver behaviour change weight management and self-management for long term conditions group and 1:1 sessions to patients across Thames Valley sites under supervision of the dietitian.
- Be responsible for collating Patient Information including dietary information packs to support the education sessions delivered
- Make changes to information sheets for patients in conjunction with the dietitian.
- Be responsible for teaching patients the skills required to change their diets and physical activity safely. This includes correct food hygiene, weighing, menu planning, recipe adaptation and safe physical activity behaviours.
