We have an exciting opportunity for a part time Occupational Therapist to join our Mental Health team team at HMP Lancaster Farms, a category C Prison located in outskirts of Lancaster, Lancashire.
HMP Lancaster Farm consists of 550 males. As a Occupational Therapist, you will work within the mental health team working closely together seeing patients in the healthcare department, you will also be required to work on the prison wings.- Onsite Parking

Hours:
- Monday - Friday
- 22.5 hours per week
- Hours to cover 8am - 4pm
Salary:
This position is part time, youll receive an annual salary up to £43,609 - £49,175 per annum FTE - depending on experience, this will be pro rota

Main duties of the job
As a Occupational Therapist, your responsibilities will vary. You will
- Be responsible for the provision of occupational therapy assessment, treatment and evaluation.
- Provide visible and professional support to ensure the delivery of high quality patient care and rehabilitation aimed at improving or maintaining independence.
- Working with a caseload of patients with varying difficulties including complete health and social care needs; responding effectively to the changing needs of the patient caseload, managing the sometimes conflicting priorities of prevention of admission and discharge.
- Youll assess and order equipment as identified by patient need and allocate work to OT assistant or care staff as necessary. Establishing communication networks with other team members, patients and other health and social care agencies, attending joint visits with other professionals as required.

- Diploma/ degree in occupational therapy with current professional qualification (HCPC)
- Post registration experience and evidence of Continued Professional Development
- Understanding of the complexities of multi-disciplinary and multi-agency working
- Understanding of clinical governance, health and safety, QOF, EBP and national standards
Although not essential ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community or prison environment.
