We have an exciting opportunity for a Mental Health Clinical Lead to join our Mental Health team at HMP Winchester, a category B Prison located in Winchester.
To work as part of and lead the Mental Health team within the Integrated Healthcare Services team.Hours
37.5 hours a week working 8-4pm. No weekends.
Salary
This position is full time, youll receive an annual salary up to £57603 per annum FTE - depending on experience.

Main duties of the job
As a Mental Health Clinical Lead, your responsibilities will vary. You will
- Provide clinical leadership and management to Registered nurses and allied health professionals.
- Establish inter-agency working where necessary to ensure good communication increases quality of care for patients.
- Ensuring that own clinical practice is consistent with autonomous practice within the role.
- Based on the Wellbeing Approach and Practice Plus mental Health policy, provide nursing triage and screening and assessment.
- Actively participate with the development of local operating procedures to ensure pathways are clear for clinicians
- Ensuring all complaints / concerns relating to Mental Health are dealt with in a timely fashion.
- Nurse lead treatment or care within mental health
- Medicines management/advice including supporting medicine administration
- Set standards for care by implementing protocols and establishing health education activities.
- Maintain accurate documentation of assessment, planning and treatment of patients.

Qualifications required
- Registered Mental Health Nurse (Currently registered with the Nursing & Midwifery Council)
- BSc or equivalent qualification
- Experience of providing supervision
- Teaching / Mentoring experience
- Evidence of appropriate continuing professional development activity to maintain up-to-date knowledge and on-going competence in all aspects of the role
