Main duties of the job
Reporting to our Outpatients Manager, you will be part of a small, forward-looking department with the latest ophthalmic equipment, including IOL Master 700 and the latest edition Humphrey Visual Field Analyser. Specialist areas offered include cataract surgery pathways, age related macular degeneration assessment and treatment pathways and ocular-plastic pathway.
This role is ideal for someone who is keen to develop their skills by working alongside our experienced Ophthalmic Consultants to deliver an outstanding Cataract Service for patients.
We will be able to provide training for our Optometrist to be an integral part of our patients cataract pathway, to be able to 1st consultation appointment to list the patients for surgery, as well as to provide follow up and routine appointments for our consultant led elective ophthalmic services.
About us
You will be a GOC registered Optometrist, with:
experience in the pre and post assessments of patients referred for refractive surgery knowledge of ophthalmic surgical care provision and knowledge of Ophthalmic disease Be able to independently prescribe and skills to deliver first appointments on a cataract pathway.
