We have a fantastic opportunity for a Bank Pharmacy Assistant to join the team at HMP Millsike, a brand new state of the art Category C male prison in Full Sutton. HMP Millsike has capacity of nearly 1500 males, and houses inmates within 2 years of their release date.
This is a rare opportunity to join our close knit Pharmacy team, where you will join a unique working environment, where no two days are the same! Within this varied role you will work in our onsite pharmacy - dispensing medication, second checking, preparing prescriptions etc. Hours: This is a bank role offering flexible hours to cover additional need such as sickness and annual leave Salary: This position is offered on a bank basis and the hourly rate is £15.80 How will we support you?Bespoke induction, including our Introducing Health in Justice training course

Main duties of the job
As our new Bank Pharmacy Assistant, your responsibilities will vary. Some of your duties will include:
- Work within the onsite pharmacy, joining a growing team, currently 3 in post
- Support the Pharmacy Technicians and Pharmacy Manager, as well as the wider healthcare team
- Label and dispense medications, and prepare prescriptions
- Second check controlled drugs
- Contribute to services such as medicine reconciliation, managing stock medicines and transportation of medicines
- Provide support to ensure a safe and secure medicines management service, following policies, procedures and standard operating procedures

Our New Pharmacy Dispenser Will Have:
- An NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Dispensing
- Experience within a pharmacy environment - whether in the community, hospital or a prison / secure setting
- Experience within a patient / customer facing role
- A non-judgmental and compassionate approach
