We have an exciting opportunity for an Advanced Nurse Practitioner to join our Primary Care  team at HMP Wormwood Scrubs, a category B Prison located in London.

In this role you will have the opportunity to provide the highest standards of healthcare to our patients, without having to compromise on efficiency and quality. 

 

Hours

Monday to  Friday - 08:00 - 16:00

However flexibility on start and end time can be offered. This position is full time, working 37.5 hours per week.

Salary

Youll receive an annual salary up to £68,680 per annum - depending on experience.

Main duties of the job

As a Advanced Nurse Practitioner, your responsibilities will vary. You will

  • Have expert clinical skills and demonstrate judgement in assessing and managing wide ranging and complex patient problems.  
  • Support senior clinicians on site as part of the daily leadership team, providing clinical input for all patients.
  • Work with the team to ensure; patient safety, the management of complex cases and ensure the most up to date treatment methodology is applied to patient care.

  • Registered professional with current registration (NMC)
  • Masters in Advanced Practice or equivalent
  • Recognised prescribing qualification
  • Understanding of the complexities of multi-disciplinary and multi-agency working
  • Understanding of clinical governance, health and safety, QOF, EBP and national standards

Although not essential ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community or prison environment.

As an Advanced Nurse Practitioner with Practice Plus Group you will need expert clinical skills and demonstrate judgement in assessing and managing wide ranging and complex patient problems. You will provide clinical leadership for the mental health team. This multi-disciplinary team is made up of a variety of registered and non-registered professionals including; mental health, and substance misuse practitioners. You will act as a role model ensuring professional appearance and maintaining professional standards at all times.

Supporting senior clinicians on site you will be part of the daily leadership team, providing clinical input for all patients. As a clinical expert in your field, you will work with the team to ensure; patient safety, the management of complex cases and ensure the most up to date treatment methodology is applied to patient care.

You will also;

Provide

Outstanding evidence based care, listening and acting on patient feedback so that care is personalised and informed by what matters to them. You will also provide assessment, diagnostics, treatment and continued management of patients with acute and long term medical conditions.

Deliver Non-judgemental care by leading the team to deliver care that is safe, high quality, patient centred whilst meeting CQC requirements following our policies, procedures and always considering safeguarding.

Inspire

Excellence in your colleagues by pro-actively leading and motivating the team recognising that our workforce is our most valuable asset. You will provide professional leadership to the nursing team to ensure we provide a service that people can trust, feel safe within and feel proud of.
