Join our dedicated team delivering exceptional care in Endoscopy We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Endoscopy Practitioner to join our busy Endoscopy Unit. As a registered practitioner, you will independently provide comprehensive nursing care to patients attending outpatient, phlebotomy, pre-assessment, and procedure clinics. You will take overall responsibility for patient care within the unit and work closely with the Endoscopy Manager Vera, to develop and enhance programmes of care. Your role will be pivotal in maintaining high standards of clinical practice, ensuring compliance with relevant regulatory standards, and contributing to a supportive and effective team environment. Main duties of the job
- Delivering safe, high-quality, patient-centred care in accordance with Care Quality Commission (CQC), CNST, Joint Advisory Group (JAG), and other relevant standards.
- Assessing patient needs and tailoring care plans to meet individual requirements, including advising patients on procedures and sedation.
- Maintaining and ensuring the proper use of clinical equipment and medication safety in line with hospital policies.
- Preparing procedure rooms, supporting endoscopic procedures across gastroenterology, urology, and gynaecology, and assisting recovery.
- Reporting incidents, managing resources efficiently, and fostering effective communication within the team and across departments.
About us
- Registered Nurse (NMC Part 1) with active registration.
- Proven experience as an Endoscopy, Gynaecology, or Urology practitioner within a similar setting, with competence in nurse-led consent processes.
- To be familiar with current JAG standards for Endoscopy.
- Sound knowledge of health and safety, risk management, and relevant clinical guidelines.
- Strong organisational and communication skills, with the ability to manage resources effectively.
