Were looking for friendly, flexible, and customer-focused Catering Assistants to join our Bank team our hospital at Shepton Mallet. This is a great opportunity to work shifts that fit around your life while playing an important role in delivering a first-class food and beverage service to our patients, staff, and visitors. Youll be part of a supportive team ensuring everyone receives nutritious, high-quality meals in a clean and welcoming environment.

Main duties of the job

As our Bank Catering Assistant, youll be involved in a variety of tasks across the kitchen, ward, and caf, including:

• Preparing and serving meals to patients, ensuring dietary requirements are met and recorded.
• Assisting with the preparation of breakfasts, lunches, and dinners.
• Keeping kitchen, dining, and caf areas clean, tidy, and compliant with hygiene standards.
• Supporting caf service by preparing light meals, hot drinks, and handling cash.
• Restocking beverage points, vending machines, and staff rest areas.
• Reporting equipment faults and helping maintain high food safety and temperature control standards.

About us

With your previous customer service experience (experience in catering or healthcare is a bonus, but not essential), you will also have:

• Understands or is willing to learn about food hygiene and health & safety requirements.
• Communicates well, follows instructions, and works effectively in a team.
• Brings a positive, adaptable, and caring attitude to their work.
• Is flexible and happy to work a variety of shifts as part of our Bank team.
