We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Mental Health Practitioner to join our Mental Health team at HMP Gartree, a category B Prison located in Market Harborough, Leicestershire.

In this role you'll be working with a multi-disciplinary team that will support you and help you succeed.  

Hours

This a part-time role working 30 hours per week (7.5 hours a day, 4 days per week)

Monday to Friday - core working hours (8 - 6).

There is flexibility as to which days you would like to work.  

Salary

You'll receive an annual salary up to £47,466 per annum FTE - depending on experience.

Main duties of the job

As a Senior Mental Health Practitioner your responsibilities will vary. You will

  • Be responsible for assessment and caseload management of those referred into Mental health services
  • Support your team to carry out comprehensive assessments, confidently communicating treatment options and initiating supportive care plans, working with individuals on a 1-2-1 basis alongside the wider multi-disciplinary team.
  • You will model a culture of compassion, care, courage, commitment, communication and competence.
  • Develop and apply new skills to maintain and enhance clinical service delivery.

Requirements

  • Registered Mental Health Nurse/ Social Worker/ Occupational Therapist with NMC,HCPC or SWE
  • Good IT skills and IT literacy
  • Ability to work within a busy environment
  • Ability to work unsupervised whilst following policy and procedures

Although not essential ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community or prison environment.

To provide healthcare to patients, promoting health and well-being within the prisoner population. We are looking for experienced Mental Health Practitioners, RMN, Social Workers (Mental Health), Occupational Therapists (Mental Health), Recovery practitioners with experience in the Primary care mental health field. The role will be responsible for assessment and caseload management of those referred into Mental health services. Working as part of a primary and secondary care integrated model, Practitioners will be able to work under their own direction whilst also contributing to group MDT and triage. You will support your team to carry out comprehensive assessments, confidently communicating treatment options and initiating supportive care plans, working with individuals on a 1-2-1 basis alongside the wider multi-disciplinary team. You will model a culture of compassion, care, courage, commitment, communication and competence.
