We have an exciting opportunity for a Trainee Advanced Nurse Practitioner to join our nursing team at HMP Rye Hill, a category B Prison located in Rugby. 

HMP Rye Hill has a capacity of 660 males after 18+.   We are looking for someone who has experience working within Primary Care in prisons   This is an opportunity for a nurse who is looking to develop in their career as a Advanced Nurse Practitioner.  
  • Onsite parking 
  • Training and Development training opportunities 
  • Staff canteen 

Hours:

This role is 37.5 hours per week

Monday - Friday 8-4.00 with 30 mins break or 8-4.30 with one hour break

Salary:

This position is full time, youll receive an annual salary between £48000 - £53000 per annum FTE - depending on experience.

Main duties of the job

As a Advanced Clinical Practitioner,  your responsibilities will vary. You will

  • Demonstrate judgement in assessing and managing wide ranging and complex patient problems
  • Provide clinical leadership for the mental health team, This multi-disciplinary team is made up of a variety of registered and non-registered professionals including; mental health, and substance misuse practitioners
  • You will act as a role model ensuring professional appearance and maintaining professional standards at all times
  • Supporting senior clinicians on site you will be part of the daily leadership team, providing clinical input for all patients
  • As a clinical expert in your field, you will work with the team to ensure; patient safety, the management of complex cases and ensure the most up to date treatment methodology is applied to patient care.

Qualifications required: 

  • Registered Nurse Adult NMC 
  • Independent/supplementary prescriber qualification - desirable 
  • Experience working autonomously as an advanced clinical practitioner following best practice guidance 
  • Primary Care experience in the Prison service is essential
