Our Health in Justice service line is now expanding into non-Custodial healthcare, a person-centred approach delivered via a solid and consolidated infrastructure aimed to assess individuals mental health and neurodiversity requirements, to redirect them to the most appropriate channel. We have an exciting opportunity for a Head of Service to lead the wider Liaison and Diversion, MHTR and Reconnect teams on North Yorkshire 

Hours & Location

  This is a full time role working 37.5 hours per week. The role is based at Fulford Road Custody Suite but you will be able to travel to corporate meetings within the region and country wide where required.  

Salary

You will receive a salary of £55,000 to £60,000 depending on experience plus a £4,000 car allowance.

Main duties of the job

As the Head of Service you will:

  • provide pro-active management of our  non-custodial  services across the North Yorkshire geography. This will include maintaining the strategic direction of the service and delivering agreed contractual requirements and targets from NHS England
  • form part of the wider non-custodial healthcare senior leadership team, working with other key stakeholders to ensure that the contract becomes highly functional, and non-custodial services become fully embedded across the region, working closely with West Yorkshire, South Yorkshire and Humber Heads of Service. 
  • ensure that our services deliver non-judgemental, compassionate care within the financial framework that is safe, high quality and in line with the NHSE specification
  • inspire trust and excellence in your people by pro-actively leading the service and motivating the team, recognising that our workforce is our most valuable asset.
  • promote best practice, evidence-based care and continuous quality improvement embedding a culture of shared learning, whilst managing and overseeing the reporting and report writing to NHSE and senior stakeholders on a regular basis
  • share knowledge, skills and expertise to ensure safe care, and lead multi-disciplinary teams of clinical and non-clinical colleagues who support each other to do a great job.

Qualifications, skills & experience required:

  • Degree or appropriate equivalent level of experience / clinical qualification
  • Significant experience leading multi-disciplinary teams
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Experience of managing budgets and supporting financial reporting
  • Experience of client management / meeting NHSE commissioner expectations
  •  Flexible attitude to working arrangements, including on call responsibilities
  • Experience of leading teams that support patients and service users, who have complex mental and physical health conditions
