Due to the increase of treatments and care we are giving to patients, our busy Administration department have new permanent opportunities for a Patient Schedulers to join our dedicated and focused Admin. team, based at our Portsmouth hospital.

As a Patient Scheduler, you will be providing a professional and patient focused booking and administration service, answering calls from patients, carers, GP surgeries and other hospitals regarding patient admissions and referral letters.
This is a part-time position, working to shift patterns offering 30 hours per week
The hospital is open Monday to Friday and Saturday from 07:30 to 18:00
Main duties of the job
As the Patient Scheduler, youll be supporting the clinical teams and our patients by effectively occupying and accommodating availability for varied consultations, assessments, treatments and theatre sessions. Youll be tasked with monitoring the capacity of booking and reporting any unfilled availability to the Patient Services Lead.
Youll be responsibility for identifying and registering all new patients and manage their referrals. You will need to confidently answer questions and provide advice to patients regarding their appointments.
In this Patient Scheduler position, youll be playing a patient focused and supportive role, you will be keeping in contact with patients on waiting lists to offer earlier or newly available appointments, contacting them prior to their appointment to set their expectations.
Detailed, up to date and confirmed booking lists will have to be prepared in good time and issued to the related departments, such as the outpatient clinic and theatres.

Whilst we are looking a strong Administrator, this position will suit those who may have worked in a telesales or call centre environment with a results / target driven background. You will be an effective communicator at all levels both written and verbal and will be PC literate, being familiar with MS Office tools (Excel in particular), able to pick up new systems easily. Multi-tasking will be second nature to you as you will have examples of having had to juggle multiple tasks at the same time.
