We have an exciting opportunity for a Primary Care Clinical Lead to join our Primary Care team team at HMP New Hall based in Wakefield. 

HMP New Hall is a female adult and young offenders institution offering medium level of security with a population of 344 females. 

The Primary Care Clinical lead will look after a team of 15 members in the primary care team which will consist off senior staff nurses, registered nurses and healthcare assistants.    Hours

Monday - Friday - 37.5 hours per week 8am - 4pm or we can offer 37.5 hours per week over 4 days 

Salary

This position is full time, youll receive an annual salary between £49848 - £55996 per annum FTE - depending on experience.

Main duties of the job

As a Primary Care Clinical Lead, your responsibilities will vary. You will

  • Provide clinical leadership and management to the registered nurses and care teams.
  • Deputise on behalf of the Deputy/Head of Healthcare when required.
  • Work closely with partners to maintain a robust, high quality clinical service for patients. Ensure that own clinical practice is consistent with autonomous practice within the role.
  • Model a culture of compassion, care, courage, commitment, communication and competence.
  • Clinical Lead you will coach, line manage and develop clinician staff; support and contribute in undertaking audits and governance and contribute to developing and reviewing clinical/non clinical Local Operating Protocols for the site.
  • Chair and facilitate specific healthcare meetings with the team and different partners, provide clinical supervision (training available) and carry our investigations locally and for the wider region.

  • Registered Nurse Adult Current professional qualification (NMC)
  • Evidence of Continued Professional Development
  • Understanding of the complexities of multi-disciplinary and multi-agency working

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Existing line management experience and student nurse mentorship

Although not essential ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community or prison environment.
