We have an exciting opportunity for a Transitional Worker to join our team at HMP Wormwood Scrubs, a category B Prison located in London.

Hours

Monday to Friday - 8am to 4pm

Salary

This position is full time, youll receive an annual salary up to £33,232 per annum - depending on experience.

Candidates are required to have a Legal right to work in the UK and due to the nature of the role, offers of employment will be subject to additional vetting and security checks

Main duties of the job

As a Transitional Worker your responsibilities will vary. You will

• hold a case load of complex patients and support them with arranging up to 3 months support in the community
• be support in attending hospital appointments, housing or employment
• attend the employment hub and triage men before they are seen in the pre-release clinic
• link in with wellbeing organisations in the community who can take on referrals for extra support

Qualifications and experience required

• English and Maths at GCSE or equivalent
• Ability to prioritise workload
• Excellent communication skills
• A non-judgmental and compassionate approach
• Good IT skills and IT literacy
• Ability to work within a busy environment 
• Experience of being a support worker in prison or the community
